We Are the Future Heirs

< Galatians 4:1-11 >

“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ‘Abba, Father!’ Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days and months and seasons and years. I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain.”

The Apostle Paul said that although all saints and all servants are the heirs to the Kingdom of God in the future, they are no different from slaves and they are under guardians and stewards in this world for a short while. He also said that they suffer for a short time because they are under the elements of the world.

By calling them "the heirs of God through Christ," Paul was speaking to God's servants and to all His people at that time that they had come to be the successors to the Kingdom of God. The Apostle Paul said, “Although all of you may live as servants while living in this world for a shot while, you have to live with the knowledge that you are future heirs to all of God the Father’s possessions as sons of God.”

In order to make us His children, God the Father had us born under the Law. Then, God sent Jesus Christ to this earth to save all those who were under the Law, and Jesus sacrificed His own body to meet all the requirements of the Law once for all. Thus, He saved us from all our sins, and allowed us receive adoption as His sons. And also, by giving the Holy Spirit into the hearts of those of us who believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, He had us call God Abba Father.

Truly, I have the thought of living together with the Lord whether we go to Him or the Lord comes to us quickly as the ancestors of the faith and the Apostle Paul had done. Also, I hope that we will inherit and enjoy all the Lord’s possessions. I believe for sure that we are the ones who would receive and enjoy all the wealth and prosperity that God the Father has.

Certain people say that all the words in Revelations are ‘unbelievable words of mysticism.’ There are those who try to prevent people from believing in such extravagant writings by criticizing the Word with their own scientific perspectives as if those who believe in God’s Word are failures. However this isn’t true. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place where he would receive an inheritance. And he went out by accepting the Word of promise, not knowing where he was going. Of course, he died just like all the other people of faith did. But we believe for sure that, when the time comes, our Lord will raise all of us, the believers in His Word, from this earth and He will have us live together with Him in the Millennial Kingdom.

The Lord promised us, as the righteous, that He would allow us to enjoy all His wealth and prosperity. We believe in the Lord. We are the recipients of inheritances that the Lord shall give. I believe that, when the Millennial Kingdom comes, the Lord will wash the tears from our eyes, protect us, give us blessings, and do everything He promised. In other words, when we go to that Kingdom after living on this earth for a while, the prosperity that we will receive and enjoy is something everlasting, which is too numerous to describe in words.

As it is said in the Lord’s Prayer, “Your kingdom come” (Matthew 6:10), inheritance from God refers to the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God already came into our hearts when we believed in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. If we were to die after living the rest of our lives spreading of the gospel, we would actually enter the Kingdom of God. Or, if the Lord comes while we are alive, all His promises will be fulfilled thoroughly. It is not a matter of concern when the Lord comes. The Lord will surely come sooner or later. What is essential for us is to have faith in His Word.

Time flies like an arrow. We have waited for the beginning of the 21st century for a long time, but it has already been 4 years since the year 2000 arrived. It is written in an ancient oriental poem, “Before I even realize spring beside the pond, a paulownia tree before the stairs sounds autumn.” We are now facing another presidential election even before the excitement of the last election fade away in our memories. Four years have passed in the twinkling of an eye. After the passing of each year’s birthday, I often wonder when my next birthday will come. But, to see that I am well over fifty since my birth, time really passes like a flowing river. As a river flows into the sea so naturally, time passes and the moment to inherit the Kingdom of God approaches.

The Day of the Lord will surely come. And the time for us to inherit our fortune from the Kingdom of God will also surely come, so long as time passes. Even if one were to be hung upside down, time would still continue to move. Whether we are awake or asleep, time continues to pass even during this hour of service, during the hour of eating food, during the moment when we serve the gospel of the water and the Spirit, during the moment when we pray, during the moment when we play soccer, and even during the moment when we think of bad things or good things. As long as time passes, that moment will come, and we will take on the inheritance. We will surely inherit the Kingdom of God.

I believe in living together with the Triune God—God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit—by inheriting all of God’s wealth and prosperity in His Kingdom. The Apostles spoke great deal of this. Paul said, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” Of course, all these virtues are needed for every one of us, but hope for the Kingdom of God is more needed in this end times. For without hope, we cannot endure the hardships that we face while serving the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Hope bears endurance. It is true that the Kingdom of God will surely come to you as time passes by.

Dear fellow believers, there was a time when I was in the prime of my youth. But, time has passed so and I am faced with the arrival of old age. Although I try to hold on to time, I cannot tie it down. At a young age, time does not move very quickly, but there comes a time when it moves very quickly. I think it was from the time of my early twenties that time had started to move quickly just like an arrow. Before that time, I felt tedious over my life because I felt time did not move quickly, but starting from that point on, time moved so quickly that I went through my 30’s and 40’s like a flying arrow. I was asking, “When will I be 60?” but I am already over 50. My heart is like that of the prime of my youth, unchanged. But, time passes by and by, and my body shows me that I am over 50. Now, if time were to pass a little bit more, wouldn’t I be crossing the Jordan River, the river of death?

After crossing the River of Jordan, we who have been born again of water and the Spirit will be able to meet each other, but we will not be able to meet those who have not received the remission of sins while alive. Who is on the other side of the River Jordan? The Lord is there. What is the place that the Lord greets us with His angels? It is where the Lord is, the best place, Heaven. When all of time passes, the Kingdom of the Lord, where the good Lord is and the good world is prepared, will come to us. It means that Kingdom of the Lord will become ours when all of time has passed.

How quickly time passes by. This year has passed by already. Now, if some more years go by like this, the Kingdom of God will become ours. You don't know how fortunate we are. It is so good that Heaven will be mine as well as yours. Actually, it is good enough for us to have received the remission of sins, but it is even better to receive Heaven as a gift and to be able to enjoy wealth and prosperity while enjoying the everlasting life. I am so glad that all the wealth, prosperity, everlasting life, and blessings will be mine as well as yours just when time passes. Now, the only thing left is for the time to pass.

The only thing we have to do is to publish the books for spiritual growth of the newly born-again, and send them throughout the world. We have printed 10 books as the basic series for the preaching of the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Now, we have published 5 books as the spiritual growth series: Matthew I & II, 1 John I & II, and Galatians I. This is the sixth book of the spiritual growth series of our mission. We have been translating these books into every language of every nation. I am not exaggerating when I say that we are living in a flood of books. Sometimes, 7-8 volumes of books come out in a single week. Long ago, you wouldn’t have known how happy I was when a single book came out. Now, frankly speaking, I cannot even count how many titles, the original books and their translations alike, we have published. I just guess that the number of our titles is over 170, in over 50 languages or so. But, whenever I see our newly published books, my heart fills with joy, just by looking at their covers.

We will work much more than ever before. After giving birth to a baby, one would have to feed him milk everyday, but if there is no milk, the baby will die of hunger. Women may know much more, but when a baby is born, out of the mother’s bosoms comes out what is called colostrums. Because everything that a baby needs is in the colostrums, a baby must eat colostrums. Babies that were brought up by having been fed colostrums stay healthy even when they grow old.

As such, if a person has received the remission of sins by listening to the gospel of the water and the Spirit, which is the word of God, there are consequent teachings that are needed. Young children should drink milk after having eaten colostrums, and then digest baby food after weaning; they should move gradually onto eating tougher foods, starting from foods that are soft. The same principle can be applied to the spiritually young. If we did not prepare these spiritual foods, spiritually young people all over the world would starve to death. In God’s Church, the spreading of the gospel is the goal. Of course, consuming the gospel is like feeding on colostrums and milk. Added onto that, by feeding nutritionally balanced foods to the newly born-again, we can help them to grow well.

In summary, we must feed them with a balanced diet of God’s Word. After passing on the gospel of the water and the Spirit to them, which would be the colostrums, we have to feed them by continuously translating the Word of the Old and New Testament, so that they will continue to grow.

When reading the e-mail testimonies or reviews from abroad, we can discern whether the senders have read our books or not. I know that among people who visit our homepage right now, the number of people who already knew about it is greater than the number of people who are visiting for the first time. I know that people who had visited once before continue to visit our homepage and download the teachings of God there. That is why I decided to make and distribute many more books. My heart is in a hurry, but the problem is that I am almost exhausted. There are so many works to be done, but there is no strength. But, I will continue to do so.

I am sure that the newly born-again souls all over the world will grow up well if they are fed with our spiritual growth series. What great amount of Word did you need in your spiritually younger days, that is, just after you received the remission of sins? The righteous have to continue to listen to the gospel of the water and the Spirit after receiving the remission of sins, and thereafter, they have to listen to God’s Word from His servants continuously in order to peel off their erroneous thoughts. By listening to a large number of God’s words, dregs in your hearts are removed, and thus, you are able to understand the Word of the Truth and unite with God’s Church by heart.

Galatians 4:7 states, “If a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

Do your parents of the flesh have a fortune to pass down to you? If yes, what do you need to do to inherit them? You just need to wait for the day that your parents die. You may feel a little bit immoral, but frankly speaking, you may think, “Let the time pass. What my parents have will be all mine.” There are children who wish for their parents’ deaths in their hearts, although they may not show it outwardly when their parents get old and sick.

You have passed down something valuable to your children. Did you not pass down faith to your children? You have passed down something great. There is nothing more precious than this. And, we have all spiritually become the children of God. To have those of us under the Law gain the right as the sons of God, Jesus Christ came to this earth, received the baptism, died on the Cross, remitted all our sins by resurrecting from death, and poured the Spirit into our hearts. Now, because the Spirit of God is in our hearts, we call God, Abba Father. And now, it actually became so.

Among those who are gathered here, is there anyone who feels hesitant to call God as their Father? Are there sins in your hearts? Do you believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit? If you believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit in your hearts, there is no reason for disqualification in becoming the righteous and God’s children as well. When the time arrives, we will be given all the wealth, prosperity, capability, power, and authority that God possesses. We will be sharing what He has together with Him. We will be living together with God forever as a family.

Such a thing is precisely God’s Church. The concept of a spiritual family refers to God’s Church. The assembly of people who have received salvation by being born again of water and the Spirit, the assembly of people who have become the righteous, and the assembly of those who would receive the Kingdom of God as the inheritance is the church of God. Originally, those who are born again of the water and the Spirit are the people of God, one family, and the members of the church of God (1 Corinthians 1:2). We must always live within the church of God with the faith that we will receive and enjoy the authority, wealth, and prosperity that God has. While living on this earth, we get tormented by people, get neglected, and work hard to serve the gospel. But we can live well by faith, and not be envious of another’s fortunes or greedy to gain the things of this earth.

I have set my mind that I will go before God when the works to be done are all finished. I have recognized that the Apostle Paul also did that with such heart. When he was young, he was no different from the servants of the world. We also are under the tutors and governors until the time set by the Father. God had us live under those in this world who have attained authority. Until we inherit the Kingdom of God, we are to suffer just for a short while in this world. This means that we became sufferers for the righteousness, not just any suffering.

And, while under the elements of this world, we are their servants. The elements refer to the teachings of this world. Actually, teachings of this world cannot even be the basics. In looking at all the teachings of this world, it can be seen that they are really worth nothing. Knowing worldly teachings well does not mean anything grand. It means that God has us live under such elementary teachings just for a short while.

Inheritance means that there is some fortune to receive. It means that one will enjoy wealth, prosperity, authority, power, and fortune that God has, along with God in His Kingdom. Honestly, sometimes a thought crosses my mind. “Wouldn’t living like that be tedious?” Anything done over a long period of time becomes tedious. Playing table tennis is fun in the beginning, but continuously playing is tiresome. And, playing soccer all day long is tiresome as well. Two or three hours should suffice, but if someone were to tell you to go out and play soccer all day long after eating, how tiresome would that be? Do you perhaps think living forever is something wearisome, assuming that living until 70 or 80 years is tedious? If we look into the Bible, everything is in the Kingdom of God—fruits of the Spirit such as love, joy, gentleness, and self-control, enjoyment of wealth and prosperity, and bearing of fruits according to the four seasons. Up in Heaven, there is joy and no anxiety. So, it is ever so good. What the Lord had said to the nailed criminal beside His Cross was that “You will be with Me in Paradise.” It means that there is a garden of joy.

Since it is said that there is no end to happiness, blessings, and life, and that there is not even a bit of darkness, how beautiful would the inheritance be? Yes. If we wait for the Kingdom of God and live by faith, then the Lord will come down and give us the inheritance. All the promises and prophesies in Revelation will be realized in perfection to us.

Many instigated people to believe by fixing a certain date of the Lord’s return. Some prophesied that many disasters would come about when the year 2000 arrived. But they were all mistaken. All such tumultuous disturbances turned out to be fallacious. Therefore, people’s hearts are hardening toward the side that says the Lord is not to come. Especially in the Catholic hierarchy, they say that is not the case. Although they seem to show and teach the truth in a very shrewd way, they arouse distrust in the end and prevent their congregations from believing in the Word of God. That is something truly shrewd. How shrewd is it for them to prevent their congregations from believing in the Word of God while they apparently try to teach God’s Word?

The book of Galatians

The Word of the Bible is the truth. Dear fellow believers, sins went away from our hearts because we believed in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. The truth actually works. So, the gospel of the water and the Spirit is the Truth. If so, will all the written Word of God be realized as such? It will be realized for sure. When the time comes, we shall inherit the Kingdom. We shall inherit all the wealth, life, and prosperity possessed by God the Father. Will we stockpile them after inheriting? No. It is said that one will enjoy them. You don’t know how happy I am to have been guaranteed the everlasting enjoyment of such a precious blessing in the future.

God-given inheritance is something truly good. Therefore, even though people in the world may make a fuss about worldly things, this is the reason why we are not envious of those things. It is because we have hope in the inheritance to receive in the future, believing that things in the world are worth nothing.

There is only one expectation in my heart. I trust there is something in Heaven for us to inherit in the future. Believing that the promise will be fulfilled when the time comes, I am only waiting for that day, without any other expectations. You and I have become heirs of God by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. I will go to my eternal home after earnestly spreading this gospel and diligently doing God’s work until the Lord’s Day. I have no other hope. Dear fellow believers, do you have worldly hopes? You may have hopes for something else besides the inheritance of God, but I have no hope. For that, I am happy. By the faith that I am an heir to God’s Kingdom when the time comes, I live in the midst of hope.

I give thanks to God. You and I are wealthy. Dear fellow believers, do you believe this? Repeat after me. “I am wealthy.” “I am an heir to everything of God.”

Yes, we are the heirs of God, who will inherit everything of God, sooner or later. Hallelujah!
